Flash Player hang up

I checked for similar posts to this one, and I did not find anything different from what I have already done.

The issue: I cannot install Lego Digital Designer 4.3 on our Windows 7. It does not recognize Flash Player (17,0,0,169 chrome & firefox versions). I followed all of the steps on each of the following pages:

https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_4__Ensure_that_you_have_the_latest_version_of_Flash_Player__if_you_are_using_Chrome_

What more can I do?

Same thing happens with the latest Windows 10 updates as of December 2018.

What you do is copy all of the Lego Digital Designer Files back into Lego Company\LEGO Digital Designer folder in the ProgramFiles (x86) directory. Click on the LDD.exe file. It will stop booting up halfway and the Flexlm license manager will ask where the license file is. Browse to the Lego Digital Designer and choose the .lic file. Voila, it works again.

This is assuming you have a backup of the Lego Digital Designer Directory, or can copy it from another computer which is what I did.

Very simple solution from the old days

I'm assuming that this is a standalone piece of software, and that you're getting a message about it requiring Flash during installation?

Typically when application developers embed a web browser into their application on Windows, it's going to be an embedded Internet Explorer window.

Fire up Internet Explorer

Go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

Complete the installation

Retry installing the game and see what happens.

Hello, I had the same issue as the OP, and tried what you had advised.. internet explorer, vivaldi, chrome were all updated and the installer still fails because Flash Player fails to install. I moved the notification window out of the way and can see it got stuck on Flash10b.ocx in the ActiveX folder. I tried installing ActiveX flash installer as well manually and still fails. Any more suggestions?

Are you talking about Lego's installer failing or the Flash Player installer?

If it's Lego's installer, you need to talk to them.  Not much we can do about that.

If it's our installer, the installer logs should tell us why it's failing:

Links to the offline installers are at the bottom of the guide.
