I am using a chromebook which allegedly already has the flash player already set up on it but I don't seem able to get it working, I have already had a few people trying to help me out but most seem to talk about windows 10 which is no help to me, I can see my chromebook being frisbeed down the garden before too long, I am a proper technophobe and easy step by step instruction, thanks

    Hi again,

Here's another one with some good information for you, Re: Chromebook not updating to latest version of Flash Player so you're not alone in this, obviously everyone with chromebooks is experiencing this phenomena, and it looks like you have to allow google to manage the updates for you, which is not so bad, but if you aren't up-to-date since taking it out of the box brand new, then you will really want to read both link pages to these adobe forum discussions on this. The answers are enlightening....have fun on your chromebook adventure, good luck!

    Hi Dave,

Here is a link to this subject on this adobe forum, Re: Chromebook gives message: "A plugin (Shockwave Flash) isn't responding" and they do ask as it helps to know, what your machine is, like is it an HP or Toshiba, laptop or what? Anything helps to know....

You've created a number of duplicate threads, and seem to be bothered by the volume of replies that you're getting.  I'm going to close this out, and lock it so that you don't continue to get mail related to it.

Our recommendation is that you would be best served by face-to-face support, or direct support from your computer's manufacturer.

    Best of luck!

Sorry Dave, since you aren't on Microsoft, what I said doesn't apply. So, you have an Android type platform (operating system) something that I have on my Samsung smart phone, everything google, and google makes you sign in just to delete browsing history, etc. so it's a nuisance to me. But, usually you can find what you need with key word searches in your browser's web address typing field, just ask it direct questions and click on the sites you think are trying to give you the best answer from the google page of suggested hits to your key word search. You'll have to learn how to use Chromebook by trial and error, reading help files, tutorials, as they give step by step instructions, none of us can escape it. Here's a link to some help on the subject:  http://www.chromebook.net/flash-support-in-chromebooks.htm It's a one page read, and do skip the paragraph they mention and click the Chromium link and try downloading that and see if it helps, because if you can just get it installed (this fix) then maybe you don't have to know everything and read a ton of stuff and just waste your time, so hope that helps.  If you don't find it helpful, what it states and their fix, then you may have to explain which browser you are using (Chrome?), whatever details you know of about your machine, so that I or others can read this and better help you and offer solutions.

Wow well thanks Elizabeth that was all pretty clear even to a technophobe like me and just reading what you have written has taught me a few things anyway so thanks for your time and your input it is much appreciated and thanks for the link too when anybody sends me a link I know two things, first I know I am dealing with someone who knows what they are doing and secondly I know I am about to learn something, so thanks once again and have a nice rest of your life bye Dave.
