flash player installation

I am elderly lady and not the best on a pc but I used to play games on my pc and then Microsoft did an update and now I can't play anything without flashplayer   I think it is installed now but it says that it is disabled  I do what it says to enable it but it still does not work and it says disabled Please please help Ive been trying for 2 weeks
