Flash player installation dies at 33% lost connection, cannot reconnect

WinXP

Tried through FF, IE, Chrome.

Tried uninstalling, clearing cache closing all browsers

Tried downloading direct install NPAPI link (still trying to download after 5ish minutes)

Every time I get same result; it downloads, starts installing then loses connection and can't reconnect.

HELP!   please.

Something changed for the better.  Booted up this morning and was prompted to update Flash.  Downloaded and executed it for Firefox and it got by the 33% mark and successfully updated.  Hopefully it works that way for everyone else here.

Hello,

The shim installer (as denoted by the screenshots) downloads/installs Flash Player silently.  Network connection/latency issues can result in lost connection errors.  The full installers download the entire file upfront, and once launched do not perform any further downloads in the background.  If you're having network connection/latency issues, please try downloading the full installers, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still having problems' section.

Thanks for the screenshots.  Hopefully someone at Adobe can look into this HAHAHA.  Can't wait for an alternative like HTML5 or something.

Same problem here.  Impacts both FF and IE.  Gets to the 33% download mark of the install, then reports "Lost connection. Trying to reconnect...".  Never recovers and eventually errors out.

Windows 7, VMware VDI

SO I have tried installing numerous times with:

-Firefox

-IE

-Comodo dragon (got to 40% with this one)

I am getting so fed up with this, but the good news is the Chrome seems to be running fine and flash appears functional.
