Question

Flash Player installation failed. (many times.)

Installation failed. Click 'Finish' for further as...

OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Safari 10.0.1

I have followed every set of instructions and every suggestion more than once. Nothing 'Flash' remains on my hard drive. It appears that either Adobe or Apple has a glitch that is preventing this installation. If there is a problem in my computer (iMac 27-inch Late 2012, with a new 1 TB SSD), i wish someone could find it.

Hi,

I'll need to get the install log files from you to troubleshoot further.  Please do the following:

  1. Review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on the Macintosh?
  2. Configure your system to obtain the 4 log file listed (Adobe_ADM.log, Adobe_GDE.log, install.log, and FlashPlayerInstallManager.log).
  3. Once the system is configured to obtain the files, run the installer again until it returns the error.
  4. When the error is returned, close the installer window.
  5. Gather all 4 files and upload them to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document
  6. Post the link to the uploaded files in your reply.

Nothing appeared below the marker in the “install.log” in step one.

To create the ADM.trace file, I had to add a Logs folder in the ~/Library directory.

The ADM.trace file is still empty.

The instructions are lacking in detail.

Thanks for your help. I hope I have provided everything you need.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying.  I was out of the office last week.

Thanks for providing the log files.  The online installer is failing due to a known reason that we are working to resolve. Until the bug is fixed with the online installer, please use the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac page in the 'Still having problems' section.
