Flash Player Installer Not Responding on MacOS 10.11.6

Question

2013 iMac , OS X 10.11.6, Safari.Got the message to update Flash Player, downloaded and double-clicked the installer (v. 23) as always. Nothing happens for a while, after which I get an alert box:'You can’t open the application “Install Adobe Flash Player.app” because it is not responding.'I uninstalled Flash and no version is currently on my system.Any suggestions?TIAMessage was edited by: Jeromie Clark

If you haven't rebooted yet, that's a great place to start. At minimum, it will eliminate a bunch of potential roadblocks for other steps.

Collecting and posting the logs would help us improve the product, and the links to the offline installers at the bottom of the guide should get you going.
