Flash player installs Megabackup malware

Question

I installed the latest version 22.0 r0 this morning and it installed the Megabackup malware also. I'm still trying to find out how to uninstall it, whether it can do damage, and whether it can scrape passwords (e.g., to my bank account). You guys really ought to do better about vetting your downloads. I'm concerned and I'm mad.

Also, sending this simple message to let you know you have a problem was a royal pain. Why can't you guys make things simple?

Megabackup is NOT a third party software offered by Adobe. You most likely clicked on an unofficial download link. If you have the link private message it to me and I'll forward it to our fraud department.

Mac Users Attacked Again by Fake Adobe Flash Update | The Mac Security Blog among many other results when searching for 'Megabackup'.

The only official site to download Flash Player from is get.adobe.com/flashplayer or on one of adobe.com's help pages. If you're downloading the installer from anywhere other than adobe.com you're most likely downloading a non-official version which may very well contain malware, etc.
