Question

Flash player is not being recognized by any of the sites I use.

I have installed the most recent version of Flash Player (11.1.102.55) and according to my computer it has been installed properly and is enabled.  However, whenever I try to use a site that requires Flash Player I'm not allowed to use the site.  I'm told that I must install Flash Player in order to continue (these are sites I've used in the past with no problem).  I've gone in and made suer the security settings are OK as per many troubleshooting tutorials I've found but to no avail.  (Examples of sites I'm barred from using would be Picnik and Photobucket.)

I'm using IE8 on a 32-bit Operating System with WIndows Vista.  Am I missing something?

Can anyone help me?

In addition, when I go to start>all programs>

There is no sign of a flash player but a plugin appears that says "adobe flash player 11 plugin 64 bit" when I go to the list of programs found in the control panel

Hello,

On IE8, click on Tool -> Manage Add-ons

Make sure "Shockwave Flash Object" is Enable

Hope it helps, else try a different browser like Google Chrome.

Thanks

As I said in my request for help, been there done that.  I've checked many times and Shockwave Flash Object is indeed enabled (on both IE8 and Chrome, it didn't matter which browser I used).

Any more ideas anyone?  Thanks.

I've gone in and made suer the security settings are OK as per many troubleshooting tutorials I've found but to no avail.

What is the security setting that you have found?

I'm using IE8 on a 32-bit Operating System with WIndows Vista.

?????  Are you using a 32-bit I.E.8 on a 32-bit Windows Vista??

Google embeds Flash Player into Chrome and does their own update of Flash Player.  How did you know to update the ActiveX Flash Player(Internet Explorer) at the same time as the embedded Flash Player?

What Flash Player version number does this site find?  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

What files are in folder Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash ?
