Yeah, if that doesn't work, it's a bug in Hotstar.

Flash Player is a built-in component of Internet Explorer and Edge on Windows 10 and higher.  We don't really recommend that developers embed Flash Player in third-party applications, but it's common practice to embed an Internet Explorer component in an application and get Flash Player for free.  Unfortunately, if they're looking for the presence of the Flash Player ActiveX Control by looking in the filesystem for where it used to be on Windows 7 and below, that's not going to work.

It's usually a problem that comes up in the context of older applications (people still hanging on to that one copy of QuickBooks they bought in 1998), but the behavior you're describing is what I'd expect to see in this scenario.  Either way, this is something that Hotstar will need to resolve.

If they need to talk to someone on our engineering team to help them get unstuck, they're more than welcome to send me a private message with contact info (just click my name), and I'll be happy to get them routed to the right folks.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Please ensure Flash Player is enabled in the browser using the instructions mentioned in the following link:
