Flash player not run with Safari 5.0.4

Hi Friends:

Two days ago, I installed an upgrade of Safari to 5.0.4 (6533.20.27); since this upgrade, any web page that use flash player is not working, instead of the images appears a message "module not found" and in web pages like Facebook or Youtube, if you try to run video, the system show a message "It's necessary to update flash player".

I uninstalled flash player and installed it again using the last version provided by adobe ( 10.2.152.33 ) but after that the answer is the same.

Any Ideas?

The problem doesn't go away with any of the sollutions posted here so I thought I'd give 10.3 beta a try, and it works. You can download the latest bet from labs.adobe.com

Thanks for the info -- this worked for me! It was funny, because I was able to play YouTube videos if they were embedded on other websites, but if I tried to play one from YouTube's site, it gave me a black screen. Thanks again!

I have the same problem on my MacBook.  I installed the latest version of Flash and Safari last week and now I cannot view videos in YouTube.  It doesn't even give me a message, it just doesn't load or play leaving a black screen where the video should be playing.  I can run videos in Chrome and Firefox, but not Safari.  I tried all of the above and none of them worked for me. I also checked in Safari the "Help...Internet Plug Ins" and Flash Player is NOT listed.  But when I go to the "Macintosh HD...Library...Internet Plug Ins" Flash Player Plug In is installed.

    Hi Klseiz,

Here's a few things to check:

Is the "Enable plug-ins" checkbox check in Safari's Preferences?  This is found on the Security tab.

Can you try launching Safari with extensions disabled?  You can do that in Preferences/Extensions.

Can you also verify that you don't have a duplicate plugin in your user's folder (~/Library/Internet Plug-ins/)?

    Thanks,

    Chris

I have the same problem with my new MAC

    It's running:

    OS-X 10.6.6

    Safari 5.0.4

    Flash 10.2 r152

Unfortunately it's doing the same thing. Tried to run a streaming video on cnn and it said I needed to install flash 9 or higher. It gives a link to install. I installed from the link and confirmed the plugin was there. Re-opened safari and got the exact same thing. After three attempt at installing. (btw- each time I unistalled first.) I came to the forum. No fun!

Hi, I'm not familiar with Mac but I understand that when Safari has been updated, the Shockwave Flash plugin gets Disabled.

Check that and make sure it's Enabled. This is the Control for Flash Player and is needed for Flash Player to work.

    Hope that helps,

    Hi,

In addition to what eidnolb has suggested, could you also try going into your "Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences" application and clicking the Restore Defaults button?  There was a recent update to Java that might have caused an issue here.  If this does not work, could you try temporarily removing the JavaPluginCocoa.bundle in your user's /Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, then restarting Safari and trying again?

    Thanks,

    Chris
