flash player not working?

I have the latest version of flash installed but when ever i try to watch a video on youtube say, i get a pop up saying that i need to install the latest version, ive tried unistalling it and re installing it but that has not worked, my system info

    Chrome has its own Flash Player plug-in built into the browser, so uninstalling and reinstalling the other plug-in has no effect on it at all, and THAT'S the one you've been uninstalling and reinstalling, because you can't modify the Chrome plug-in from here... at all.

    Try uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it.

    cheers ill try this, although i was having the same problem when i tried it on safari
