flash player not working correctly - confused!

Ive just recently had a new computer, and when i go to download flash player 10.2, videos and sound arent working, the video is a blank screen with 'install latest adobe flash player' and the audio is so quiet and jerky, even though i have done a speaker sound test and they are working fine.

im not a computer expert, but i've tried to un-install and re-install so many times, i was using IE7 and firefox when this wasnt working. I have just downloaded and installed google chrome and the video seems to be working but the audio is still messed up, however on some flash player sites eg - break.com and southpark website, its still a blank screen. i have checked the add-ons and all flash is enabled, i have deleted my temp internet files and also turned off my firewall.

i am really confused right now, ive searched the net and alot of people seem to be having the same problems, someone help! id be so grateful

Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?

If so, right-click on it, Settings, then try to disable Hardware Acceleration.

Hey ʇɐb ɹəuəllıʍ, Thanks for replying back.

This might be abit confusing but! - i mainly use firefox, and on there i went on onto what you told me, and there was no animation and also it says i have version 9 on it. Where as i downloaded and installed google chrome last night and i can see the animation on there perfectly, i also just now disabled the hardware acceleration, and everything works fine on there, i just went onto a youtube video and the video works perfectly, well apart from megavideo where underneath the video it says 'For better performance download the latest flash player' but the video works fine.

Im just really confused as to why it doesnt work on firefox?
