Question

flash player not working in windows 10 pro using IE11 and Edge

Can anyone help please.

My domain server had to be reconfigured following a crash at the weekend. I used to be able to play flash videos in both IE11 and Edge. Since registering the client computer again on what it thinks is a new domain, neither IE11 nor Edge will allow flash to run. I've followed the instructions making sure the flash add on is enabled and no activex filtering in IE11, and made sure the "use adobe player" switch is ON in Edge, but still no joy.

However when I installed Chrome, it works on Chrome no problem.

I'm logged on as administrator on the client..

If someone can help, I'd be grateful.

Thank you

Your Domain server? You play flash content directly on your domain server?

Usually flash content is offered up on the server and the client computer is responsible for handling the flash content from what I have read. I am assuming that the client machine is question is windows 10 since it is edge and you did not specify?

Have other people been able to access the content? That is where you need to start to rule in or out your machine, then we can rule in or out the server.

How about Firefox and using the NPAPI plugin ?

Best regards

Hi, Thank you for the response..

Sorry that I didn't word my query better.. Its flash on the client computer running windows 10 pro that stopped working when I registered the client on the domain.

I suspect its a registry or a permissions issue but it's annoying that flash works in Chrome, which wasn't installed before, but doesn't work in IE11 or Edge, even though it is enabled and worked before registering on the domain server.

It isn't an issue with the other clients, just my own one and I'm the one with admin privileges, oddly enough.

Thank you for the response though I appreciate the help.

kind regards

Hi,

Flash works in Chrome because it uses a different Flash Player plugin than IE and Edge and Google embeds Flash Player in Chrome.

Did Flash content play before registering the client to the reconfigured domain server?  Does it work in a standard user?

Are there other users on the system?  If so, what account type are they and can they view Flash content?
