Hey Hi armelb89819188 thanks for your reply yes I am Dave, no I do not know how to create with definst to fmle and to be honest I do not understand any of the tech talk that all you bright young people use but I am trying really hard to learn as much as I can and early this morning I found a list of things in one part of my Chrome 55 that had just the word "flash" in that list, next to that was an unticked box so I ticked that box and I am hoping that this is the thing I have been looking for all the time. The biggest problem I have had is so many people trying to help me but sending me Windows products which are not recognised by my little Chrome 55. I really appreciate all the help people are trying to give me but if the full situation is not fully understood the help being given is not help, it is just an addition to the original problem. So thanks Armel I think I have it covered but if not I will be back asking for more help again, thanks and have a good day, laters

hi dave what do you try to do tell me

    February 15, 2017

Well I am told that because I am a chromebook user I automatically already have flash player all built in with automatic upgrades built in and everything, so once I heard that I sat back and thought I wouldn't have to worry about doing anything about flash player ever again. But when I go to use various sites like a poker site for example I get little pop ups telling me I need to install Adobe flash player but I thought I already had it. Now the thing I have wondered is , is it installed on my chromebook and just sitting there waiting for me to turn it on or activate it. Now I am not IT literate but am learning all the time. If you do have any ideas as to what I can do please please give very easy step by step instructions and when I say step by step I mean start with ok sit down, plug your device in, turn your device on and like so as when it comes to tech I sometimes think I might be the thickest person to ever grace this earth. Thanks for your answer though now let's see where we go from here.

Under normal circumstances, it should just work.  Those little popups come from the website itself -- not from Flash or Chrome, so it's possible that either the websites are doing something wrong (if Flash works in *most* places, that's what's going on), or something is messed up with the Flash Player/Chrome installation on your Chromebook.  If it's the latter, and Flash doesn't work anywhere, then you'll probably need to reach out to the technical support folks for your Chromebook.  There's not a lot that you can tweak (or should even need to) when things are working normally.

Since the thread you posted to was about Chromebook, I've branched this out to it's own thread.

To give you any useful advice, I'm going to need to know more about your computer and browser:

    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195540

If you're using Windows 10, the following might help:

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968

Internet Explorer 11 and Edge introduce a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.

You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.
