Flash Player - Online Settings Manager
Using my Windows 7 Pro (Acer Timeline FM8571-6465) laptop, I have been trying to follow instructions from Zinio regarding on-line viewing my PC World subscription, which they took over in lieu of printed editions that PC World previously sent me. After trying to get my Flash player to work and noting that my memory was set too small, I got them to respond with troubleshooting input in which they told me me that I should make changes to global settings at an URL they included. They also noted that if I could not get the Flash player to work I should go to another site and download an uninstaller and then reinstall flash player.
I clicked on the site and got a site map covering all Adobe Products, but no on-line settings manager. I then ensured that my Shockwave add-on showed the correct enabled settings. Next I downloaded the uninstaller and uninstalled my Flash player. I then went to the website they directed me to and loaded and checked to see the version of flash player (11.8.800) yielded the appropriate figures.
Finally, I went to my other desktop and brought up the current flash player from the control panel and went on-line and found the Settings Manager. The picture there allowed me to change settings so I then e-mailed that URL to my laptop. When I cut and pasted the URL into my IE7 Explorer (version10.0). I once again got just a site map of URLs but no Settings Manager.
Why can't I get the Settings manager to come up On-line?
