Question

Flash Player pop up doesn't disappear unless I allow unknown entities to exploit me.

When attempting to use Flash Player a pop up obscures the screen and unless I click "agree" it doesn't disappear. But to agree I am allowing unknown entities to gather information about what I look at ... meaning ... the function and operating nature of my mind is available for unknown entities to take advantage of. I don't like it. I don't want this invasion and threat to my life and my work. Please get rid of it. Whoever has convinced you to allow it is not in my arena of trust.

That's the Local Storage dialog.  You're seeing it because you've asked to be prompted when websites want to store information on your computer.  Nothing in life is free, and *someone* is always paying the bills for the content you view online.  Most of the time, that bill is being paid by advertisers, and the arrangements between content providers and advertisers require some amount of client-side tracking data.

You modified Flash Player's default settings to gain control over this behavior, and Flash Player is doing the right thing in asking for your permission before storing any data.  You have the ability to choose allow or deny.  If you choose deny, there's a good chance you won't be able to view the video, but you will have controlled whether or not the data was stored to your machine.

If you want to avoid the prompt, you can choose to allow sites to store information on your computer.  If you don't want to allow sites to store information on your computer, then you get the prompt if the content requires data to be stored in order to work.

Also, in this instance, it's Brightcove, per the information in the dialog.  You can go to brightcove.com or google them to figure out what they do.

OK I am not asking for the justification of the pop up but how to get rid of it without having it do what I apparently asked it to do. It never used to be like that and Flash Player keeps popping up on my computer urging me to update ... which I ignored until it wouldn't work unless I updated it ... so "no" I did not ask for the pop up but was forced to accept it.

You might say that nothing in a Cartesian reductionist system is free but that is because it ignores the holonic alternative and pretends that it doesn't exist.

I have no idea what you're talking about.  A screenshot would be helpful.

How to create a screenshot in the Adobe forums:

Here is the screen shot. See down at the very bottom .... no down at the very very bottom. There is a pop up that won't let me view the screen unless I allow some unknown entity into my computer ... or a known entity that gives the data to an unknown entity.
