Flash Player removal went wrong

Mac OS 10.15.07 Catalina

Several times a day I receive proposals to remove Flash Player.  When initiating this, I' asked to close some open applications.  When doing so, this message follows: "removal of Flash Player has been cancelled".  Same result when I close all applications before I initiate the removal procedure.

The uninstallation via the uninstall notification uninstalls Flash Player silently in the background.  Seems this is not working correctly when a conflicting app is running.

You can use the standalone uninstaller posted at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
