Flash Player suddenly changed into black rectangle in Firefox

I was watching a 12 unit playlist on YouTube.

When changing between videos, the player suddenly stopped. All I saw is a black rectabgle the size of the video. All other preview thumbnails were still visible.

Nothing revived the player. An embedded player in a small window suffered the same fate.

I uninstalled the player, restarted the PC (W7 64) and installed FlashPlayer version 10.3 which I had previously downloaded. I re-installed the player, now using 10.3, and started Firefox which I had since updated to 14.0.1. (The failures still happened with the previous 13.x of Firefox.)

No change. No controls. No settings. Just a black box.

I found an Internet Explorer somewhere and here everything worked fine.

I read that for a different problem with Firefox they added https in front, but this also did not help in this case.

Why would a video suddenly change to a black, empty box in Firefox? Any ideas?

I solved it myself and maybe someone else has the same "problem".

Google. It's Google. I played around a bit with safe mode and when I disabled the ad blocker the videos came back.

Google have decided not to let anyone watch their videos if the ads are blocked by AdblockPlus. Maybe this applies to other blockers too. On Maxthon, ads can still be blocked as it's still relatively small. But FireFox is now forced to up their game or knuckle under.
