Flash player trouble!!!

I have Internet Explorer 8.1 and 64 bit  Shockwave is enabled Active x is disabled, but when I go to test the flash player it tells me it hasn't been installed!! And why does it say in the box that I don't have a browser???? When I try to play games on Facebook it keeps telling me to up date my adobe flash player!!! I am totally confused!! Need an answer ASAP!!!!!

    Flash Player is a free product.  Adobe does not offer direct technical support for products it provides for free.  They *do* provide these community support forums, but the community members and staff that answer questions here do so as volunteers, as a courtesy.  While we're happy to help, the expectation of a three-minute turnaround was probably a little unrealistic.

    Here's my generic advice on Windows 8 and higher (I assume you meant Windows 8.1):

    First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

    Internet Explorer 11 and Edge introduce a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.

    You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

    If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.
