flash player update on Mac yosemite not working

I have tried to update to the latest flash player but cannot get anywhere.

I have tried

1) resetting the password severalties.

2) using the apple id address only since there is no password on my private laptop.

3) I managed to update tihout problems on my Desktop

Please give me some help.

re setting doesn't seem to do it and it really should not take such a great deal of trouble to do simple up date should it ?
