Flash Player Update that crashes computer each time

Hello,

I a using Windows 7, Explorer 11.0.9600.17633 and my flash player version is 15.0.0.152.

Every couple of weeks in the middle of let's say working on a word docment for school my computer becomes very slow (the cpu goes up) and I basically have to turn off my computer to make it work again. When it goes back up, of course then I see the flash player pop-up that was the reason the computer had crashed. This cycle goes on and on and I'm tired of it. I used to update the flash player regularly but that did not help either. I am watching youtube or other clips occassionally, so I did not want to remove the flash player all together. In my preferences and definitions I marked "never check for updates" but that does not seem to mean anything. Also, I tried opening the scheduled tasks to remove checking updates by adobe, but did not locate such task.

Is there any way to disable the pop ups? Or is my only option to remove this program completely?
