gawdawful adobe flash player updater for vista, balky before, now won't work

at all.  as in, “installation failed”, over and over.

all the routine troubleshooting things were tried, and had no effect.

would anyone know of a less routine solution?

or, could the adobe updater installer itself not be working, and can adobe

check this?

Hi,

We're aware of an issue with the online installer not working on Windows XP, which may be the same issue you are encountering. I'd like to get your installation log files to confirm.  Please review the FAQ Where do I find the Flash Player installation log on Windows? and enable verbose debugging on your system.  Run the online installer again.  When it fails, click Finish, then upload the Adobe_ADM.log file to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document and post the link to the uploaded log file.

In the interim, the offline installer, posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier page, in the 'Still having problems' section will work.
