Flash player will not install on macbook

I have downloaded, installed, deinstalled about 30 times now,

Cannot get flash player to take,

shut off virus software.

went through the trouble shooting menus, that were not very helpful.

Trying to get video off NY times, and you tube.

Scanned for malware.

what next?

    Hi, Was this the Mac Troubleshooting Guide with screenshots that you used? If so, you may want to check it again as it was updated today 12/13/10. If not, you may want to review it.

    You can also test with each browser at this site and let me know if you can see the Flash logo animate and the version of Flash Player that you have Installed will be displayed. Let me know the results of that.

    Also, when you reply, please list what browser(s) you use.

    Do you know where the Flash files are located? I am not as familiar with Mac as the PC, so hopefully you can help me help you:-)
