I have done all the things suggested in the help. I have download and run the uninstalle

r, rebooted, installed the flash palyer and checked all the security setting

s. I am running Windows 7 Enterprises (64bit), IE8(32 Bit)

and tring to install Flash version 10.1.53.64. Under tools, manage add-ons it shows the flash player installed and gives the following info:

Name:                   Shockwave Flash Object
Publisher:              Adobe Systems Incorporated
Type:                   ActiveX Control
Version:                10.1.53.64
File date:
Date last accessed:     Today, July 06, 2010, 1 minute ago
Class ID:               {D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}
Use count:              23451
Block count:            20
File:                   Flash10h.ocx
Folder:                 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

every test results in no errors and no picture. I even had to go to another computer to post this as my Adobe Login would not complete.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, my next step would be a complete reload of the OS.

I am running on an HP Desktop, P6140A Intel Quad core Q8200 @ 2.33GHZ and 8GB Memory, 1TB Hard drive.

Sorry I did not get back sooner, my spam blocker got you.

I am using CA Internet Security 2010. I just had another look at its settings and turned off both its pop-up blocker and its cookie control. I thought they were disabled already as well as the firewall during testing. The Internet Explorer pop-up blocker has been off.

So currently I have no Firewall, Pop-up blocker or Cookie control operating

    THE FLASH PLAYER WORKS!!

Now all I have to do is figure which of these is the actual bad guy.

Hi Tim, It is the pop up blocker with the CA Security

    Thanks,

    Hello All,

I have done additional testing and the setting that causes this problem is the CA Internet Security 2010, Keep My Internet Safe, Settings, Browser Protection, pop-up Blocker, Advanced Settings, uncheck the Block Animated Ads.

CA does not like this change and will display a prompt that your internet is not safe and one that yor computer is not fully protected. I just ignore them both.

    Again Thanks to all.

Hi, You are correct:-) I can't remember when this came up on a thread I was helping, but another user posted the solution and I bookmarked it!! It is just something with CA. This component has the same affect as adblock. Many of the Anti-Virus Suites have many components and some are hard to find. I almost have as much info on the various Anti-Virus programs as I do Flash Player, well almost

    Thanks for the feedback.

When you right-click on that white space where the Flash object should be, can you get to the Settings panel?

If yes, can you uncheck 'Enable hardware acceleration'?
