Flash player won't install on windows xp

Question

Trying to download Flash player and come up with error message "Can't retrieve essential parameter (16263.301.602).  Any ideas?

Try the followingdownload the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (save to disk);download the offline installer(s)for Internet Explorer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);for all other browsers http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe (save to disk);close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer(s).
