flash player wont download-mac

I have been trying to download the updated version of flash player for my mac computer many times. I have followed the steps on the website, tried to uninstall it and reinstall it (which resulted in me having to back date my computer because to get it back because it wouldn't reinstall onto my computer). Can someone please help me?
