Flash Problems after 45 seconds: Firefox, IE and Chrome

On Firefox I get "The Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed." Send Crash report.

On IE and Chrome the brower locks up.

All of this happens 45 seconds into  viewing videos (FoxNews website.)

Here's what I've tried, none of which helped.

  • set dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs -1
  • Turned off the firewall and antivirus.
  • Named the website a trusted site.
  • Uninstalled and reloaded (No error messages or lockups doing installations.)
    • Adobe Flashplayer 10.1.102.64

    • Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.9.615

My system in Windows 7 64 bit.  The browers above are all 32 bit.

Webroot Antivirus with Spy Sweeper

I've read through the discussions below, but most of what I've learned is that many folks are having issues and that  Flash seems to be very buggy.

I've no problem watching  video on many other websites such as Hulu or You Tube.

    Try to

    • disable Hardware Acceleration (Flash Player Settings)
    • update the device drivers for your graphics/video/display adapter

But if it happens only on one specific site, then something may be wrong with that site.  (E.g. with all that scripting they are doing to prevent people from outside of their country to view their contents.)
