Flash update file won't launch on Windows XP

I tried to update my flash and downloaded flashplayer26_ha_install.exe.  But when I double clicked the file nothing happens.  I even tried right clicking on it and selecting open and still nothing happens.  What's the deal?

    Hi,

    What Service Pack version of XP are you using? XP versions prior to SP3 do not support sha256 certificates, which is required by Flash Player. We recommend you to upgrade your OS (see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs ) or find a Service Pack 3 installation somewhere and install it.
