Question
Flash video has no audio
A couple of days ago, out of the blue, all flash video (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) stopped working properly. The video will run perfectly fine, but there is no audio at all.
I've looked around and have tried several methods:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash
- Installing an older, known to work version of Flash
- Deleting temporary internet folders
- Deleting Flash's temporary folders
- Tried loading the video in IE, Firefox, and Chrome (don't think it's a browser thing, Netflix video works fine)
- Emptying the browsers' caches
- Checking all volume audio settings
- Checking physical connections (.avi, .mpg, etc. still have audio)
- Trying with Flash's "Enable Hardware Acceleration" both on and off
- Allowed third-party Flash content in Flash's advanced settings
- Did the msacm32.drv registry trick
- Ran CCleaner
- Installed newest video drivers
I'm at a complete loss. I even asked my rather knowledgable friend and he was stumped too. Any help would be appreciated.
