Hi, The test on whether Flash Player is working properly would take more than testing a couple of websites. First is it working on your system? Which brings us to what operating system do you use? Is it a 64bit? What browser(s) and versions are you using. If you have a Windows system, please list the IE browser whether you use it or not.

What version of Flash Player do you have Installed at this time?

Thanks,

eidnolb

First of all, thanks for your response.  Yes, all of the movies I created worked on my system. I am using Windows 7, Flash CS4 64 bit.  I use IE 8 & FF 3.63 and I believe my Flash Player is 10, but not sure how to check.  I am using GoDaddy Deluxe shared hosting (Linux).

I was working under a tight deadline and had to come up with a "cure", so I just dropped back to my Macromedia Flash 8.  I imported the same flv that was originally created as a wmv (Windows Movie Maker) and converted to an flv using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 and set to FLV web small (Flash 8 and higher).  Once I pulled it in through Flash 8, I uploaded it and it worked well.

I have no clue why the CS4 failed.  I uploaded all the files into the host root and properly uploaded the Scripts folder as well.  I lost probably six hours trying to get CS4 to work.  At the peak of my frustration was when I decided to revert to the old Macromedia Flash 8.  Unless I find an answer, I will probably revert to Flash 8 as my default.  Once again, thanks for your response.

Hi BG, well I often tell people not to enter where angels fear to tread. I may need to take my own advice:-) Flash Player, I understand, but what you do is far above my "pay grade". So whether I can be of any help or not we'll see as we go along.

First, I would test here to obtain your version of Flash Player; test using IE and then FF(Firefox)

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

After that you can also check your Flash folder to see what Flash Player files are Installed:

Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash  Open the Flash folder and post back all files listed. On the NPSWF files, you will need to right click on each and then click on Properties in order to obtain the version numbers. I need all info there.

After that, using IE, go to Tools, manage add ons (All add ons in IE8 & all categories) and find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control...Flash10e.ocx(depending on what version of FP you have) and make sure it is Enabled.

Then switch over to FF and in plug-ins, look for the SWF vs (number) and make sure it is Enabled.

This will give us an idea about Flash Player.

Thanks,
