Flash10c.ocx is giving errors and is nowhere to be found.

I keep getting an error "Component 'Flash8b.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". When it says "Flash8b.ocx" I am guessing it means there is a problem with Flash10c.ocx.

I decided that I was going to reinstall flash to try and solve the problem. I completely wiped out all traces of flash (or so I thought) using Revo and CCleaner and I also went through the registry myself to see if there was anything left behind. Then I installed a brand new version of flash and I got the same error. I went to windows\system32\macromed\flash\ and I couldn't find flash10c.ocx anywhere or any .ocx file for that matter. Then I did a search and I couldn't find it either.

Did the name of the file change in this newer version or something? I want to register or fix whichever .ocx file is responsible for the error I recieved but I don't know where it is.... Could someone please give me a hand? Thanks.

Do not manually "uninstall" Flash Player by deleting files and registry entries, but uninstall it correctly by using the uninstaller from http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157.  If you just delete OCX files without unregistering them, you may expect probles later on.

In order to get Flash10c.ocx installed, you need to run the online installer on Internet Explorer, or the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
