Flashplayer

I downloaded Flash Player the new version and was not sure it installed. I did it again and when the box appears to Run software I get the message ONLY A SINGLE INSTANCE OF THIS APPLICATION CAN RUN. I removed my old Flashplayer files from my computer. I also removed the downloads of Flashplayer from my downloads list. Please help.
