Flashplayer installed but saying it is disabled

Hi, I have recently bought a new laptop for my daughter.  It has windows 10 on it and the internet is via Edge.  We completed her maths homework last week perfectly fine, but this week are being told that we need to install flashplayer.  The computer is telling me that it is already installed but keeps telling me to activate via advanced settings.  Flashplayer is already dispalying as being turned on in advanced settings so i'm unsure as to what to do next.
