Flashplayer stopped working after recent upgrade

Today I updated my Firefox Browser as well as Flashplayer (and various other Adobe products) to the latest versions.  Since the upgrade I am unable to get Flashplayer to work.  I do not get an error message of any kind.  The content simply doesn't display.  On the Adobe website, it says that I have the most up to date version, however I do not see the moving cloud graphic, nor the icon it tells me to click on to refresh the page.  Games, that use Flashplayer do not show up as well.  I've disabled all plug-ins except for Flashplayer and that has not fixed the issue.  Flashplayer is selected to always activate.  I've rebooted (that didn't work.)  I've re-installed Flashplayer (over the existing version, I did not try to uninstall and then re-install.)  I also disabled ad-block plus (I haven't removed it yet), but that doesn't help either.

I'm on Win 7 OS

Firefox is version 49.0.2

Flashplayer is version 23.0.0.205

I did try to see if Flashplayer would work with Chrome.  It did-sort-off.  It gave me a Flashplayer is outdated message.  I didn't try to update that version.

Edit to add:  I googled FF 49.0.2 and Flash 23.0.0.205.  There is apparently a bug.  Here's what fixed it for me:

Firefox users who are experiencing issues playing Flash games in the web browser may do the following to correct the issue:

1. Load about:config in the browser's address bar.
2. Confirm that you will be careful if the warning prompt is displayed.
3. Search for dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled.
4. Double-click the preference to set it to false.
