Flashplayer stopped working in Facebook?

It worked fine for years, suddenly when I try to play anything inn FaceBook it goes to Flashplayer message stating a problem but not what it is.  It gives me the option to download, which I have tried but it will not complete.  However, my computer does show that FlashP is in my programmes.  I have no trouble when viewing video on You Tube.  Can anyone help please?  Seems something has turned itself off maybe or I need to adjust something.  Not too technical but have tried some of the suggestions on FlashP page.  I am using a PB laptop with Windows 7. Thanks
