OS win  10  Browser Firefox

This morning I received an update notification from Adobe.  I downloaded the file to my desktop.  "flashplayer22au_ga_install.exe"  When I attempted to install the file my free version of AVG anti virus shut me down stating file to be a threat.  I've disabled AVG for now so I assume no reason to not continue with the install??

Please don't post the same issue to multiple locations.  It's not conducive when folks are helping you and you're posting the same issue at multiple locations.  Please see Flash Player installer virus? for further replies and post any replies there.

Noted, discovered this thread after I posted in the other one & then discovered the link to this thread which was more related to my issue.  As I stated before, sorry for the confusion / duplication.

    reaspectfully,

I have the same issues, after just booting my laptop up.  Sent PM, included my screenshot and comment though in another similar post by mistake. Sorry, it was the only one I found in the search, until a post in that thread lead me here.  Adobe, Please advise, my links are coming from the Flashplayer update and directly to Adobe, https://get3.adobe.com/flashplayer/update/activex/, not being redirected to an unofficial site.  Very concerned.

    Respectfully,

    Steve

Sorry, Samsung Laptop, i5, 8GB ram, running Wdws 7 sp1, IE11, MS Security Essentials is giving me the virus detection.  " Flashplayer Version 22.0.0.192 "  Ok, I think that is all the info requested.

    Hi,

"flashplayer22au_ga_install.exe"  is a file name for a valid Flash Player update.  This is the online installer which downloads and installs Flash Player silently in the background. Perhaps this is why AVG displayed the warning.  The MD5 hash value for the file is 2E3C054A83DBEBFE0C0B61191019B29D.  You can verify the file you downloaded is safe using this.
