FLV Player virus

I keep getting an ad to download FLV Player every time I open a site or change a page in a site.  This ad appears to be associated with Adobe Flash Player.  It acts like a virus and is unwanted.  Does anyone know how to delete this prompt?

FLV player is NOT an Adobe product. Your system is infected with "Adware".
