Question

Game saves then Deletes later

Windows 7 64 bit

Flash player 32 bit:

     Active X 10.1.53.64

     Plug In Version 10.3.181.26

Standalone Version:

     Flash Player 10

So the problem started from an update about a week ago (6-16-11) I am able to play the game for as long as i want. It does infact save. It saves to a location similar to this "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\ZNESFQZP\#localWithNet"

It stays there for an undetermined amount of time ocassionally i can check back and it is still there. Then all of a sudden it will no longer be there. Before the update i installed i never had this issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Am I assuming correctly that you use Internet Explorer 9?

One of the new features of IE9 is that if you delete browser history and/or cookies, Flash Player cookies are also deleted.

If you do not want this to happen, don't delete browser history / cookies with the browser itself, but with a 3rd-party application such as CCleaner.

I use Mozilla Firefox and i have not changed any settings since i originally set it up.

But i am not playing the game through the internet. I am using the standalone version of flash player and simply running the game through a .swf on my desktop.

Whenever i am playing games through the internet the data is saved and i can come back to them later without a problem.

Just tested the Browser Delete Theory.

I played a game. Made a save. Closed the game.

Opened firefox. Browsed 3 sites. Closed firefox.

Checked the save game data. And it is deleted.

SO. I unchecked the box that deletes cookies in the settings window of the private tab in firefox options.

Is there some way that i can change the way that Flash Player saves data? It previously only saved the file to a "local" folder. Now it is saving to a "localwithnet" folder.

I've been scouring the internet looking for a solution for this. It's pretty sad that there doesn't seem to be anyone who has a solution. Like you, I have tried everything, to no avail. For me it started right after upgrading to Flash 10.3. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible to go back to the last version of Flash.
