I have found the CURE!! or at least for me. First unistall your current bad version of the flash player using the flash player uninstaller, then download the trial version of Macromedia Flash 8 and agree to downloading the flash player with it during the setup part, and then after that mine started working.

    OK Jean-Marc

I've done as you asked (I think) and the following have access denied.

    HKCU\SessionsInformation\ProgramCount
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WBEM\CMOM
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\Winmm
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\FlashPro.FlashPro
    HKLM\Software\Micosoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Logging
    HKCR\FlashFactory.FlashFactory.1

    What do I do next?

Salutations pongracic, tu nous disais :
    > dllregisterserver in c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flash8b.ocx

    Hi,

    I guess a 0x80070005 error ? (0005 is access denied)

    > I did everything I was instructed to do w/ regmon, regedit (changing

Yes, basically because each time flash8a/b registers, registry permissions
    are changed again.

    > I also get an error saying that ocxshockwave flash is missing. What's
    > that all about?

While the new ocx can't register, the old one is always called from
these parts of the registry. (the same who are "access denied")

    > I've cleared my temp files and history more times than I can count.

    The problem isn't here.

    > I ran the spybot programs several times, rebooted numerous times.

    Not here too

    > I just don't know what the problem is. Does anyone
    > have any other ideas?

Do you know this trick with regmon ? To reach a listed registry key,
just double clic on it. Also use favorites.

BTW, if the "owner" of the registry key (permissions > advanced) is
"administrators", my script or the uninstaller must work.

    Bye

    Hello,
I uninstalled and reinstalled using the updated files, but still no success.
    I get an error:

dllregisterserver in c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flash8b.ocx failed to register.

I did everything I was instructed to do w/ regmon, regedit (changing owners to administrators. I felt as if I was changing the same permissions over and over again. Ran and reran regmon, then flashrepair to see "denied access" files. They're the same thing all over again.

I also get an error saying that ocxshockwave flash is missing. What's that all about? I've cleared my temp files and history more times than I can count. I ran the spybot programs several times, rebooted numerous times. I just don't know what the problem is. Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm fried.

    Hi,
Can anyone summarize what MTCOBRA 369 did to install successfully? There were so many postings on it and I'm confused! I know just enough about PCs to be dangerous...still having problems installing flash 8, even after checking for spyware.

    Thank you in advance!
