GO THE EXTRA MILE

OS version is Windows XP (SP3)

Web browser is Mozilla Firefox 49.0.2

Flash player is Adobe 23 NPAPI

Each time I attempt to download videos or watch videos online, message says “The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed. Re-load the page to try again.”

This has not been a problem for all the time I have had web access since 2011, but happens now. I tend to think it started when I began using Skype. I have uninstalled Skype, but the problem remains. I hoped changing to Opera would do the trick, but a similar problem occurred ("Adobe failed to load"), so I have reverted back to Firefox.

I am desperate for an answer because I have searched out and tried all the online remedies I can find, repeating the procedures to make sure I have followed them exactly. I have deleted my caches, suspended my preferences, deleted old files, enabled flash in my browser, started in safe mode, disabled my plug-ins, uninstalled and reinstalled the player umpteen times. I have also bought and downloaded a proprietary driver updater from a respectable source, but it has had no effect - videos won’t stream or download. I do regular house-keeping to keep my computer clean and everything else works fine.

I do hope somebody will go the extra mile to help me, even though we all know this is a well reported problem and there has been much already said about it.

It's almost certainly driver related.

Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.

If disabling hardware acceleration doesn't work, give me a couple Firefox crash reports to look at.

Please see the following guide on how to report a crash or error:
