Google Chrome will no longer support older OS's

According to Google, Chrome will no longer be supported for older OS's - see "Google Chrome Blog: Updates to Chrome platform support

With that said does anyone know if the PPAPI plugin will be updated on a regular basis same as the ActiveX and NPAPI versions and if so if the updated PPAPI version can be used to upgrade older instances of the FlashPlayer in the Chrome browser?

Just curious what others tack will be to Google decision?
