Having trouble updating Flash.

No matter what I do I can not update Flash player on my laptop. I have tried everything in their help section and nothing has worked. I just keep getting the same error message over and over again saying that either another Flash Player level is installed or something is using Flash Player and I need to close it. I have tried unistalling Flash Player and then installing the new one and that didn't work. I closed everything that was running and that still didn't work.

Anyone got any tips on what I can do?

Hi, What Operating System are you using and is it a 64bit or 32bit? Also please furnish the browser(s) and version numbers.

The link you referred to in your 2nd message is to test whether Flash Player is working and the version Installed.

Use each browser, or all and when the site opens you should see the Flash logo aninmate(spin) and the version displayed.

When I go to that site it tells me I have version 10,1,102,64 installed.

I have windows Vista on my computer and it is 32 bit. And I am using the most updated version of Internet Explorer.

Ok, thanks. The latest version of IE is 8. IE9 is a beta version, so I 'm not sure which you are using.

However, you can try this method. Now if you've had an Virus/Malware issues you need to let me know. This may or may not work.

Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:

    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for IE- use the EXE Installer

    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.

Disable any messenger services, as yahoo, msn, etc in the system tray(area near the clock)

Unless you are using Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials, then Disable your Anti-Virus

Be sure to use the Administrator Account.

Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.

Now check and make sure your Anti-Virus is still Disabled before running the Installer.

Run the Installer for IE and when finished, Reboot.

Then go to this test site and test each browser:

You may want to print these instructions to make it easier to follow. If you have any questions, let me know.
