This is a new installation of IE8 (ver. 8.0.7600.16385) on a newly installed Win7 64bit. It started happening about 3 weeks after normal use.
I also have ESET NOD32 4.2.64.12 installed, with ZoneAlarm version:9.2.057.000.
Administrator permission - check.
Nothing changed in the IE8 security settings.
This crash happens on almost every webpage I visit.
When using a different browser (SRWare Iron 5.0.381) everything seems normal.
Thanks,
Michael.

MichaelC111, is your trouble really solved? I'm facing the exact same problem with IE8... Flash crashes after a few hours.

    Please let me know!

    Thank you

    Rodrigo,

It's been four days and counting, the problem is solved.

Since I had problems uninstalling and downloading the flash player (the same crash in IE8 also happens when trying to uninstall/download) I deleted the folder.

I also killed all relevant processes (do alt + ctrl + del, start the task manager and kill every process with the word 'adobe' in it).

Then, it was possible to download, then uninstall then reinstall.

    Easy!

    Michael.

    Hi,

I tried going through the troubleshooting guides but nothing helps, so I resorted to violent measures:

    - tried to download the flash player again (which lead to the exact same crash)

    - went to the macromedia/flash folder and deleted everything

    - downloaded the flash player (download now succeeded after folder was empty)

    - clicked on the .exe file, which opened the uninstaller

    - uninstalled (successfully, for the first time)

    - downloaded the player again

    - Installed.

    Works like a charm.

    Thanks for the help.

Hi, well I see you just took matters into your own hands:-) Perhaps a step was overlooked before, which is easy to do.

Glad you had success this time and thanks for posting back and marking your thread as answered.

Hi, You may want to read the Troubleshooting Guide that has been Revised. Read it carefully as it has most all problems that can occur. The solutions are very helpful.
