Help needed for downloading flashplayer

We have had to update our Adobe and now need to update to the latest version of Flashplayer to be able to see videos and play some games.  I have tried to download several times and although it says it has been successful when I try to play a video on MSN news it still asks me to download Flashplayer.  I use IE9, have Norton Security.  Can anyone advice please as it is driving me mad.
