help please!

hello,

i have been attempting to download flash player onto my computer and i am having some problems, i am using windows internet explorer on windows vista.

i click on the download button and it leads me to a page where it says either a dialogue security box should appear or a gold bar at the top of the page, neither of these appear, however the software appears in my C drive. I click 'run as administrator' but nothing happens. I have uninstalled it and then tried to reinstall it but nothing happens.

A couple of times this message has appeared. . ."not retrieve a valid progID. of Class: MSXML2.XSL template.3.0. (original exception:undefined) "

Could you tell me what i can do to make it work please? thankyou
