How do I fix the damage the recent update did to my computer?

I was using the program for school to open up a textbook we are required to read.  The program told me I had to upgrade it in order to use it so I went to the website and upgraded it.  Now I can't use the program and I get several error messages every 5 minutes which makes it impossible to take tests or do my homework because it screws up whatever I am currently working on.  How do I fix this so I can complete my school work.  I NEED to know ASAP please.

The last error I got said it was an ActionScript error but they are different every time.

See Windows Update kb3087916 [August] is installing the DEBUG version of Flash ActiveX into IE11 on (32-bit) Windows 8.1 sys…

Microsoft Updates pushed-out the wrong version of Flash.   We have to wait for Microsoft to fix the issue, sending out the proper version.

Thank you for your help.  I guess now I'll wait for them to get their heads out and fix it.
