How do I stop Flash Player from crashing Firefox?

Recently, Adobe Flash Player has been crashing Firefox 44.0.2 numerous times per day on various websites. Tried all the Adobe suggested troubleshooting items, also uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player on the Adobe website. Still no change in the crashing. What else can I try to fix this bug?

Whatever version is current on the Adobe downloads site. Ironically, I just tried to go on the Adobe site to check the version and the site crashed!

It's 20.0.0.306.
