How to download Flash player?

Hello all,

I can't seem to download the flash player as an exe installer for Firefox any more. I am always offered to install an FF extension. This runs counter to my policy of AV scanning everything that is downloaded onto my computer. I have downloaded an exe installer (install_flash_player_ax.exe) as well and it did install something, but in FF the same old plugin still appears.

Any suggestions as to how to solve this problem?

    install_flash_player_ax.exe is the ActiveX installer for Internet Explorer.  The Firefox installer is http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe

    More executable installers can be found at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
