Question

how to make flv loop seamlessly again?

Hi,

I started a thread over in the Flash Pro forum "seamless looping FLVPlayback video no longer seamlessly looping" only to discover that the issue lies with Flash Player.  At the time of putting these small seamlessly looping flv videos together the Flash Player—version 10—delivered the videos exactly as when I test played them in Flash. This is no longer so. Now there's a one second long lag when playing these videos in a browser, and I'm wondering why?

Judging by the volume of threads out on the internet wanting seamless video loops, this appears to be a popular feature.  So why the regression, why was the ability to play seamless video loops in current Flash Players removed?

Is there anything in the works to re-instill this feature in Flash Player?

And if not—what can be done to fix this?   What can I do to make these videos loop seamlessly again?  Is it a buffer issue in Flash Player?  And if so, is there a way to implement AS3 netstream code to communicate with the FLVplayback component to make it work correctly on my end?  (all the videos are set up using the FLVplayback component in combination with an 'addEventListener'—see original thread—and re-coding everything to Netstream would just be a horrendous amount of work at this point...  not to mention the lurking fear that a new release of Flash Player may once again nullify the effort...)  Or maybe there's a way to modify the flvplayback.as file to make this work?

Any help to get this working again would be much appreciated... thanks.

Facing same problem with FLV not playing with SWF but MP4. If found any solution please help.

Not playing on chrome and firefox, but somehow it played on IE. Must be some some SWF or Flash player plug-in issue.

Thanks for adding the bug report and making the call to get out the vote.  I've cast mine!

Chris

Ps. This sounds familar, I'll ask the team to take a look and see if this has already been reported.

Have Adobe team lost their minds? This problem is here since 2012 AND NO ONE THERE HAVE FIXED IT YET?

I just did this with ADOBE FREAKING ANIMATE CC 2015.2, One would expect that a 2016 version of Adobe would already have native support for MP4 files and of course fixed the loop bug, but guess what:

Dropbox - 00 Fastrack

I can't believe it.
