How to uninstall elder Version of Adobe Flash Player 14 ActiveX in System Win 10 Pro 64 bit

Hallo,

My problem: In my computer system was installed Adobe Flash Player 14 ActiveX - a elder version - before I updated the system up to Win 10 Pro 64 bit latest version.  Now I can not uninstall this elder version neither using the function "unintall programs" nur "uninstall apps" by Win 10.

My programm Kasperky Internet Securoity 2017 reports, that there is an update ready to update 'Flash Player 14 ActiveX to Flash Player version 23.0.0.162. But this update does not work - an unknown error is reportet. The uninstall program provided by Adobe Flash Player only works to uninstall the latest version, but does not uninstall Flash Player 14 ActiveX.  That is why my Kasperky reports everlasting "update error" and "the computer is at risk".

How can I uninstall the old version 14 ActiveX to sort out the problem??? Actually I can not degrade to Win 7, the precedet version of Windows.

Thanks

Best regards

Werner

The uninstall program provided by Adobe Flash Player only works to uninstall the latest version, but does not uninstall Flash Player 14 ActiveX.

This isn't accurate.  The unintaller removes all previous versions of Flash Player, except in the case where the browser vendor embeds Flash Player in the browser.  Since Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE as of Windows 8 and Edge in Windows 10, the uninstaller will ignore Flash Player ActiveX on those systems.  We've had users report this scenario before and reported it to Microsoft.  Unfortunately there is no way to remove old ActiveX versions once the system has been upgraded to Windows 8 or newer without reverting to the previous version (which you state is not possible) or performing a clean install, which will wipe-out everything on the system.

    Hi,

Since you have updated to Windows 10 you will not be able to uninstall/install Flash Player as Microsoft embeds Flash Player for IE and Edge. Go to settings and check for updates and you will find an update for Flash Player. Click on the same to update Flash Player.

Also ensure ActiveX filtering is turned off. For the same you can go through Fix ActiveX problems in Flash Player on Internet Explorer link.

    Thanks!

Updating Adobe Flash Player 14 ActiveX hat not resolveld my problem. But I had now chosen a similer solution as yo proposed on Internet Explorer on my Firefox in Kasperky Internet Security:

I deactivated the monitoring of updates for 14 ActiveX. The everlasting reports "update error" and "the computer is at risk" now disappaert.

    Thanks!
